Scotland beat Hong Kong by 4 wickets

Scotland and Hong Kong are the two teams which are currently taking part in ongoing Cricket World CUp Qualifier tournament. Through the qualifier round, they want to join in the main event of ICC World Cup 2019 which is going to staged at England and Wales in upcoming year. The teams Hong Kong and Scotland are in group B and in the 8th match of the tournament, Scotland beat Hong Kong by 4 wickets. Both teams are very lower ranked and have almost no chance to move to the next round in the tournament. Though, After the group stage, top three teams from each group will qualify for playoff and in that case Scotland might get chance to move to the next level.

In group stage, a group consists of five teams where in group B along with Scotland and Hong Kong, there are three more teams are placed which are Nepal, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe. Among them, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Scotland would qualify for the next round as we speak. Till now Scotland played two matches where they have still two matches left. BY playing two matches, they have won both times against Afghanistan and Hong Kong. So, it seems that they have almost secured their place in playoff round.

On the other hand, their opponent Hong Kong just played one match and it was their first match in the tournament. In the match, they faced defeat and so their inaugural experience are fully bad.

In the 8th match which was hosted between Hong Kong and Scotland in 6th March, 2018 at Bulawayo Athletic Club, Bulawayo, Scotland won the toss and elected to bowl first. It was a day match where Hong Kong started to bat. Their opening partnership added 46 runs to the scoreboard and so, it was expected that they were going to make a big score there. But later, they faced totally batting disaster. Opener, Nizakat scored 26 runs and opener Aizaz Khan scored 17 runs so far. Next six players failed to make two figure runs at least. Finally bowler Ehsan Khan scored 16 runs so far. It seems that only three player made it to the double figure runs in the match for Hong Kong.

Tom Sole took four wickets for Scotland in the match. Later, Scotland came to chase the score and the chase was easy enough but though Scotland lost six wickets but in 23.3 overs they reached the target. Kyle Coetzer scored highest 41 runs undefeated for Scotland.
