South Africa have take an early 1-0 lead against Australia in the 3-match T20I series, after an impressive all-round performance helped the visitors clinch a comfortable 7-wicket triumph in Adelaide on Wednesday.

Earlier, Australia skipper Aaron Finch decided to bat first after winning the toss, which ultimately proved to be the erroneous pronouncement, as the hosts were restricted from some fine bowling exhibition to 144-6 in 20 overs.

In reply, Rilee Rossouw (78) and Quinton de Kock (46) impressed with the bat, as South Africa pulled off the target with an over to spare and 7 wickets unscathed.

“My first couple of games for South Africa were not great. Fortunately, this was my night,” CricBuzz quoted Rossouw, who was adjudged the Man of the Match.

He added: “You got to be on top of your game and capitalize. Me and him (de Kock) are very similar. It is very nice playing with de Kock. It takes pressure off your shoulders.”

The two teams are scheduled to lock horns in the second T20I on Friday.
