The group stage competition of second edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017 has just finished and four teams have qualified for the upcoming playoff round. The playoff stage will stat in next 28th February, 2017 with the first qualifier match. According to the PSL rules, the top point holder will play the 2nd position team in the first qualifier match and the winner of the 1st qualifier round will get direct access to the final competition. But the loser will get another chance to get to the final which is they will have to play the winner of the eliminator round. However, according to the PSL 2 point table, Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta are the two teams that hold the first two position and so, they will play the first qualifier match. The first qualifier match will be staged at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah.

Now, here we talk about the possible winner of the 1st qualifier round as well as the possible finalist. Calculating their last head to head battle, in this season of Pakistan Super League, this two teams played against each other twice times already where Peshawar Zalmi won the last match but the first group stage match was abandoned due to rain.

However, Peshawar Zalmi is regarded the favourite but Quetta Gladiators was also last time finalist of PSL and has plenty of experiences players in their team squad. Though, last season of PSL was long gone and so, that statistics would not work properly.

In the first meeting between this two teams, Quetta Gladiators got packet in 128 runs which was changed easily by Peshawar Zalmi. They won by 2 wickets.

Besides, both teams have played eight group stage matches each where both of them won four matches which makes them even but according to the run rate, Zalmi stood on the top of the point table.

Team Zalmi is led by Caribbean player Darren Sammy and they have hard hitter Kamran Akmal, Eoin Morgan, Shahid Afridi, Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal and some other talented T20 players. Though, English skipper Eoin Morgan perhaps could not take part of the next match because they has an international series ahead with the national team and have to visit West Indies.

On the other hand, Quetta is led by experienced local player Sarfraz Ahmed. THey have also some regular T20 experts like Pietersen, Rilee Rossouw, Ahmed Shehzad and some others which could dominate the opponent bowlers.

So, it would be tough enough to describe the possible winner but no doubt the match will be contesting.
