2nd T20 Match Pakistan vs West Indies [ Match Highlights ]
T20 Man Of the Series
A 34 year debutent Baber, put together two very good and desicive performences in the 2 T20 matches, in the first game he picked up 3 wickets and scored crucial runs at the end of Paksitan inning to win the game for them, while in the 2nd match he scored 11 runs at the death of the inning and also picked up 2 wickets.
Zulfiqar Babar, in his debut series, is the Player of the Series for the 2 matches he played on international stage, went not out on both games and picked 5 wickets.
Pakistan have won 1 game and lost in the opening two matches of the 5 game series, in the first match Pakistan won the game single handedly through comeback king Shahid Afridi while in the 2nd match their batting was again exposed badly and they failed to chase 225 runs target now we move to 3rd match and it will be crucial game to win for both sides.
Pakistan are coming into this match on the back of a solid win over, South Africa in the Warmup game couple of days ago, where they chased down a small target set by South Africa with 5 wickets in hand and did not panic of a change. Pakistan’s strength is their bowling and If they bat first they should be looking around 260-280 scoreline which their bowling is good enough to defend against Chris Gayle and company.
West Indies on the other hand are a very dangerous side who can take the game to any team on their day, They are T20 World Champions, and in the past have won the ICC Champions Trophy back in 2003 where they beat South Africa to clinch the title, they have also ended as runnerups 2 times in the Champions Trophy, They will go into the match against Pakistan and in Groub B matches as underdogs but when you have players like Chris Gayle, Darren Sammy, Devon Bravo and Kieron Pollard you can expect West Indies to give you hard time in any format of the game.
This match is tricky, Pakistan have upper hand on West Indies in the last couple of decads when it comes to big ICC Events but unpredictability is the name of both sides, Pakistan are poor at chasing runs while West Indies have some great batsman who can win the game on their own. Both teams will be looking to win the toss and bat first here, so toss will play a big role but I am going with a narrow win for Pakistan.
Pakistan beat West Indies with ease in the first ODI of five match series, Pakistan started the innings in a disaster fashion but Shahid Afridi who was making comeback to national side, put together a good partnership with Misbah and scored 76 to help pakistan reach 225, Pakistan got three early wickets as West Indies started the chase and Afridi finish of the batting lineup with 2nd best bowling figures in history of ODI Cricket, watch the match highlights and afridi show here.
