New Zealand won by 5 wickets at Hamilton

Pakistan cricket team has visited New Zealand few days ago which was the first competition for both Pakistan and New Zealand in the new year 2018. New Zealand arranged a home tournament against Pakistan where team Pakistan played a ODI series and a T20I series against the local team. They played a warm up match before starting the main competition. Pakistan won the match and hoped for a good start. But in ODI series which consisted of five matches, Pakistan lost the series where Black Caps won first three matches consecutively and secured the series. In 4th ODI, New Zealand won by 5 wickets at Hamilton against Pakistan.

However, Pakistan and New Zealand both are almost same category teams in ODI cricket though Black Caps is still ahead of the Green Shirts considering ICC ranking. Team Pakistan has some great and talented players in the squad and they are usually great in bowling. But still they are suffering the batting problem though they still possess some top rated rising and talented batsmen. They have lack of experience now and most of the players of the Green Army are new. On the other side, team Black Caps are very balanced considering Pakistan and they received home ground benefit there.

The 4th ODI between New Zealand and Pakistan was taken place in 16th January, 2018 and Seddon Park, Hamilton was the host ground of the match. Ross Taylor who is a Black Caps player and it was his 200th ODI in his career. Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first.

So, team Pakistan came to bat and played full 50 overs. They lost eight wickets and presented almost good score in front of Black Caps. team Pakistan scored 262 runs where Mohammad Hafeez scored highest 81 runs in 80 balls. Tim Southee took highest three wickets for Black Caps. He bowled total eight overs against the Green Army.

Later New Zealand came to chase the score and in 45.5 overs Black Caps successfully made the chase. Colin De Grandhomme scored highest 74 runs and remain unbeaten. He faced only 40 balls. He also alone destroyed the bowlings of Pakistan. New Zealand lost only five wickets to chase it. Pakistani bowler Shadab Khan took highest three wickets of his team.

Colin de Grandhomme was announced as the player of the match later. It was the 4th match of the ODI series and team New Zealand won all four matches and just one match left. Team Pakistan has chance to avoid whitewash to win the last match against Black Caps.
