Lasith Malinga Has Been Ruled Out For the Upcoming England Tour

Due to a knee injury Lankan fast bowler Lasith Malinga has been ruled out of the upcoming tour of England. Thursday (1 April), Sri Lankan Cricket Board’s medical committee chief Harindu has confirmed that.

Lasith Malinga did not play in the ongoing IPL season. His team Mumbai Indians medical team declared him unfit for at least four months. Knee injury may be knocked Malinga out from Caribbean Premier League.

Malinga, who suffered the injury during the home series against West Indies. After a match of the Asia Cup due to injury, he was unable to take the field after the game. He also missed out T-20 world cup.

Harindu said the knee injury harassing Malinga very much. A knee surgery need to be done. Doctors told him a lot of rest. However, just like the rest of this type of injury will not enough. We want to have scanned him several months to keep monitoring. We really do not know how much tile will take to recovery. He will be out of the team for the upcoming tour of England.

Malinga had a knee injury at 2009. After a break of almost a year, he played for the national team again. For fear of re-injury, he retired from Test cricket in 2010. He returned from injury earlier this year in the Asia Cup. However, old injuries did not release him.
