India won T20I series against Proteas

Finally India won T20I series against Proteas. It was a great achievement for guest team India. Earlier, they won a ODI series against the local team and now this T20I series.

Team India has finished their South Africa tour with the T20I series where the series consisted of three T20I matches. India won the first match and South Africa won the 2nd match. So, 3rd match was unwritten final. India won the 3rd match and so, India won the series by 2 – 1 games.

India won T20I series against Proteas

India started the T20I series against Proteas in 18th february, 2018 where in the first match, India beat South Africa by 28 runs. Later, the second T20I was staged in 21st february, 2018. In the match, South Africa turned back and defeated India by six wickets. So, they were getting even by winning one match each. However, they were looking forward to the 3rd match and by winning the match, one of them could win the series. India finally did it.

The 3rd match between South Africa and India was hosted in 24th February, 2018 and the ground of Cape Town hosted the match. For South Africa Christiaan Jonker made his T20I debut through the match. Like the 2nd T20I, South Africa once again won the toss and selected to bowl first. It was a day/ night match which started at the local time 18:00. India came to bat first by losing the toss. By playing all 20 overs, India scored 172 runs and in the meantime, they lost seven wickets. It was the lowest total of India in the T20I series. So, Proteas thought to win the match easily. Shikhar Dhawan scored highest 47 runs in 40 balls where for Proteas Junior Dala took three wickets highest. He bowled complete four overs and gave 35 runs so far.

Later, South Africa came to chase the score but this time they suffered. They had wickets but could not reach the destination. Their innings finished in 165 runs so far. JP Duminy scored highest 55 runs so far. They lost six wickets in the match. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took two wickets for India. Finally Suresh Raina got the player of the match award.

Basically South Africa failed to make a good head start in their innings. In just 10 runs opener Hendricks was gone with individual 7 runs. Later, Miller and captain Duminy tried a bit where Miller scored 24 runs. Besides, Jonker scored 49 runs so far. They should win the match but India’s bowlers did maintain proper line and length and as a result, South Africa was defeated.
