Gloucestershire County Cricket Club which is also known as Gloucestershire in limited over competition and Essex Eagles are both very popular franchise teams in Royal London One Day Cup tournament. In every season, both of them used to take part here like previous times. They have participated in the tournament from South group as two of the nine teams in the group. Gloucestershire and Essex both of them got their first victory in the tournament earlier and finally they were here to fight against each other. In the match between them, Gloucestershire won by 4 wickets against Essex Eagles.

The tournament Royal London One Day Cup was introduced in 2014 and England and Wales Cricket Board replaced ECB 40 to the current tournament. Now, it used to be played 50 overs per side and which is a result of increasing overs in 2014. Now, it used to stage by following ODI rules.

In every season of the tournament, total eighteen teams competes in the tournament where they used to be divided into North and South group. Gloucestershire and Essex both are from South group. Through the match, Gloucestershire has got two victories by playing two matches where Essex Eagles got one victory so far. Both teams have still three matches in hand in the group level and specially Essex should try to get victory in rest of the matches.

The match between Essex and Gloucestershire took place in 20th May, 2018 at County Ground, Bristol. Most impressively in the same date total six matches were executed. Three matches from North group and three matches from South group.

In the match, Essex Eagles won the toss and decided to bat first. Varun and Adam Wheater started the innings for Essex. Openers added 74 runs when their partnership were broken. Adam was gone with 41 runs. Just three runs later, Tom Westley was gone as well. He scored 2 runs only. Within 93 runs, total four wickets had gone. So, team Essex was under pressure. But finally, Ravi Bopara and Ashar Zaidi made a partnership that led them to a good total. Ravi scored 50 runs and Zaidi scored highest 82 runs so far. In 50 overs team Essex lost seven wickets and scored 287 runs so far. Chris Liddle took four wickets for Gloucestershire.

However, Gloucestershire successfully reached the target in 48.1 overs. Most of their players got score in the match where opener George scored 77 runs and Gareth scored 87 runs highest for the team. They lost six wickets in the meantime.
