England is batting in 2nd innings

England and India are the two superpower cricket teams and now, these two giant teams have faced against each other in Test competition. According to the last news, team England is batting in 2nd innings. They have already lost 1 wicket and Keaton Jennings is one the crease with 5 runs. Just the 2nd day of the 1st Test has ended. ECB has organized a home tournament and invited India to visit them. So, India cricket team is touring England where they have played a T20I and an ODI series against England already. However, team India won the T20I series against the local team England by 2 – 1 and in the same way, team England won the ODI series against India by 2 -1. Now, the main competition of the tournament started. The Test series consists of five matches where the opening match has already started in 1st August 2018.

England is batting in 2nd innings

Team India has played a tour match before started the official Test and the tour match ended with draw against Essex. In 1st August, 2018 at Edgbaston, Birmingham the 1st match officially started. In the match local team England won the toss and decided to bat first. The match against India was the 1000th Test match of England. Joe Root is the English captain and Virat Kohli is the captain of India team.

So, India came to bowl first at the away venue. Alastair Cook and Jennings failed to make a charming start. In 26 runs opening partnership was broken. Cook was gone with 13 runs only. Another opener Jennings scored 42 runs. Most of the players of England got runs in the 1st innings but they were not much. Captain Root scored highest 80 runs where wicketkeeper Bairstow scored 70 runs so far. Based on the score, team England scored 287 runs in the first innings and lost all wickets. They played 89.4 overs totally. Ashwin took four wicket highest and Shami took three wickets for India.

Later, India came to bat for the first innings. Their opener added 50 runs jointly and started to lose the wicket since then. Only captain Virat Kohli scored 149 runs in the match but rest of the players could not cross 26 runs so far. They played 76 overs in the first innings and scored 274 runs and lost all wickets. Curran took four wickets where Anderson, Rashid and Stokes took two wickets each for England.
