England cricket team was travelling Australia just few days ago where they were scheduled to play Ashes series against Australia. They could not bring glory to their country back to back and lost the Ashes series against Aussie team by 4 – 0 games. Later, they were scheduled to play a ODI series against Australia. The ODI series between England and Australia consisted of five match where the opening match of the tournament was staged in 14th January, 2018. In the match, England destroyed Australia by 5 wickets. It was seemed a revenge for them where they lost the Ashes title in the season.

The 1st ODI between Australia and England was taken place in 14th January, 2018 at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne where Andrew Tye made his ODI debut through the match for Australia. Team England won the toss and came to bowl first at Melbourne. Came to bat team Australia scored 304 runs by losing eight wickets in selected 50 overs. Aaron Finch scored highest 107 runs which was so amazing century. He faced 119 balls to made that score. For England, Liam Plunkett took three wickets highest.

To chase 304 runs was a challenge for team England. SO,came to chase the score English team took 48.5 overs to made the score. THey reached the destination successfully by losing five wickets. Jason Roy scored highest 180 runs in 151 balls for England. Besides, Pat Cummins took two wickets highest for the team Australia.Through the match, Jos Buttler played his 100th ODI. Besides, Jason Roy made the highest score as an English batsman. However, It was the highest successful chase at the venue of Melbourne so far. Finally, Jason Roy was announced as the played of the match due to his brilliant innings.

Finch and Warner started the innings for Australia where in 10 runs Warner was gone but Finch stood strong. Later, skipper Smith came up but added only 23 runs to the scoreboard. Head also did not do better but scored only 5 runs. Mitchell Marsh came up later and made partnership with Finch. They played till 35 overs when Finch was achieved century and gone with 107 runs. Marsh scored 50 runs and later, Stoinis scored 60 runs so far. In 50 overs, they finished their innings scoring 304 runs so far. For English bowlers Plunkett took three wickets and Rashid took two wickets so far. On the other hand, for English batsmen Roy scored 180 runs and Root scored 91 runs so far. Root remained unbeaten till the last.
