Chennai Super Kings reached to the top position

Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad finally met against each other in the tournament of Indian Premier League (IPL) in the season 2018. In the match Chennai Super Kings won by 4 runs and as a result, Chennai Super Kings reached to the top position on IPL point table right now.

Chennai Super Kings is one of the most successful team in IPL this season and they have come back to the tournament after couple of years banishment. Due to some rules broken, CSK could not take part in IPL for two seasons. Now, they have completed their punishment period and has come back to the tournament again. Since the beginning of the tournament, they are in good form. Now, they have grabbed the top position on IPL point table. They have played total five matches in the season already where they won four times so far. Their nearest opponent Kings XI Punjab also won four matches but due to run rate, CSK is on the top.

However, on the other side Sunrisers Hyderabad is also regarded as one of the most talkative franchise team and started the tournament with victory. Sometimes, they were in the top position but at the end of the five matches, they are on 4th position. They won three matches out of five and in their last match, they faced a defeat against Chennai Super Kings.

The match between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad was the 20th match of the IPL 11 and it was took place at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad. The ground is the home venue of SRH but at the familiar place, Sunrisers Hyderabad failed to take the advantage and lost the match.

It was the first match in the day 22nd April, 2018 where the local team Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and decided to field first. So, Chennai Super Kings came to the bat. Watson and Du Plessi started the innings for CSK. Both of them failed. Watson scored 9 runs and Du Plessi scored 11 runs so far. Raina and Rayudu played very well and led the team ahead. Raina scored 54 runs and remained not out. Rayudu scored highest 79 runs in just 37 balls. MS Dhoni also added 25 runs and left the ground with unbeaten. So, at the end of 20 overs CSK scored 182 runs so far by losing three wickets only. Later, SRH failed to chase the score. In 20 overs their innings ended up with 178 runs in exchange for six wickets. Kane Williamson scored highest 84 runs but failed to save the match.
