Bangladesh beat Sri lanka by 163 runs

Bangladesh Cricket Board arranged a tri nation series where team Bangladesh was the host and Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe were the other two participants there. In the middle of the January, 2018 it started in Bangladesh and all the matches were ODI form. Besides, all the competitions of the event were hosted at a single venue named Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka. Bangladesh made the inaugural match against Zimbabwe considering the schedule where they beat Zimbabwe there. Later in 2nd match, Sri Lanka was defeated against Zimbabwe. As per the schedule, the 3rd ODI of the tournament was hosted between the Tigers and the Lions and Bangladesh beat Sri lanka by 163 runs which was a huge difference.

It was the 2nd match of both Sri Lanka and Bangladesh where in the first match of the tournament, Sri lanka faced a defeat and to secure their position in final, they had to win the 2nd match. On the other hand, Bangladesh got a dominating victory against Zimbabwe in their first match of the tournament. But as the local team, they were favourite in the match indeed.

The 3rd match of tri nation series which was between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka was hosted in 19th January, 2018 and this time it was taken place at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka. It was also a day/ night competition like the previous matches of the tournament where the Tigers won the toss and decided to bat first. Deciding bat was the correct decision for Bangladesh and they proved it in the field. Bangladesh scored 320 runs in 50 overs where Tamim Iqbal scored 84 runs highest for the Tigers. Thisara Perera took highest three wickets for the Lions. On the other side, Sri Lanka came to chase the score but failed to do so and finished their innings scoring 157 in 32.2 overs. They lost their all wickets in the meantime. Thisara Perera scored highest 29 runs for the team Sri Lanka. Bangladeshi player Shakib Al Hasan took three wickets highest and selected as the player of the match.

Bangladesh came to bat with Tamim and Anamul where both made a good start for the team. Top order six players got score for the Tigers. Anamul scored 35 runs where Shakib scored 67 runs. Mushfiq scored 62 runs, Mahmudullah and Sabbir Rahman scored 24 runs each for the Tigers in the match. Based on their score, team Bangladesh did able to present a huge runs in front of the Lions.
