Australia won 1st Test by 118 runs

Finally Australia won 1st Test by 118 runs against South Africa at Durban. And so, they are now leading the tournament by 1 – 0 game. Basically Australia is under the tight schedule and since couple of months, they are passing very busy time. It is very good for one sector that they are now preparing for all kinds of situation and can handle it anyway. They have won the last Ashes series against England and later, won Trans Tasman Tri Series against New Zealand and England. So, it seems that they are in good form but in the away ground it is all time challenging to face the host nation. But against South Africa, Australia did actually very good.

Australia won 1st Test by 118 runs

In the tour of Australia in South Africa they are about to play four Test matches where among them 1st Test has just finished. There are no ODI or T20I schedule against Proteas in the visit.

As the two super power teams in cricket Australia and South Africa started their challenge in 1st March, 2018 and the first match was hosted at the stadium of Durban.

In the match Australia won the toss and decided to bat first. They opened the innings very good and at the first innings they scored 351 runs by losing all wickets. They played 110.4 overs totally in the first innings where Marsh scored highest 96 runs. He unfortunately failed to touch century. In the meantime, Maharaj took five wickets for Proteas.

Later, South Africa came to chase the score for their first innings but they seen batting disaster in their innings and lost all wickets in 162 runs. They failed to play a full day but played only 51.4 overs. Though one of their player AB De Villiers remained not out with his individual 71 runs. Mainly Aussie fast bowler Mitchell Starc was the key bowler who destroyed Proteas batting. He took five wickets so far.

So, South Africa fallen behind considering the first innings and in the second innings Australia scored 227 runs in 74.4 overs. Cameron Bancroft scored highest 53 runs for the team. Basically in 3rd day, the field turned to bowling favoured and there was none for the batsmen and so, batsmen struggled hard to get runs. By the way they added 227 runs to their first innings and presented almost big score in front of the Proteas. Maharaj once again took four wickets for Proteas.

Later, South Africa came to chase 417 runs in the fifth day and lost all wickets by scoring 298 runs. Now, they are looking forward to the 2nd Test which is going to start in 9th March, 2018.
