“Anderson” the New World No.1 In Test

England bowler James Anderson has earned the honor growing up in top of the raking as the fourth English Bowler. The 33-year-old experienced fast bowlers replaced compatriot Stuart Broad st latest ICC ranking number one position for the first time in his 13 years career.

The great performances in the ongoing Test series against Sri Lanka, Anderson is taking over. He earned 79 ranking points n the first two Tests of three-match series with 18 wickets. 30 ranking points added after 3/36, 5/58 bowling figure in two innings of the second Test at Chester-le-Street.

Two steps forward, surpassing India’s Ravichandran Ashwin and Broad, Anderson came out on top. Though Broad took five wickets in the second Test but he dropped  two-step degradation, has dropped to third place behind off Ashwin.

In addition, seven of the top ten left unchanged. They respectively are Yasir Shah, Dale Steyn, Ravindra Jadeja, Trent Boult, Josh Hazlewood, Morne Morkel and Vernon Philander.

Moeen Ali scored a career-best unbeaten 155 in the first innings of the second Test match also reaches career-best rankings.  28-year-old all-rounder moved up to 35 places. Fellow all-rounder Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali enrolled just behind him in sixth place. Shakib Al Hasan in second position after Ashwin as usual. Broad in 3rd and Philander are 4th.

Alastair Cook scored 10 thousands run in Tests at this match and broke the record of  Sachin Tendulkar’s earlier age 10,000 runs. However, English Captain is in 15th like earlier. There is no change in the top 10. Steven Smith, Joe Root, Kane Williamson, Hashim Amla, Younis Khan, AB de Villiers, Adam Voges, David Warner, Angelo Mathews and Misbah-ul-Haq is in top 10 place.
