Afghanistan whitewash the Tigers in T20I series

After long time, Bangladesh faced a series defeat against a little team. But in T20I format, Afghanistan is two steps ahead than Bangladesh. And they have recently finished a T20I series which took place in India. In the series, Afghanistan whitewash the Tigers in T20I series.

Afghanistan and Bangladesh were in a scheduled of playing a T20I series. But it was taken place in the 3rd venue in India. All three matches took place at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Dehradun and through the match, the venue started it’s international competition.

The inaugural T20I match started in 3rd June, 2018. However, earlier that the Tigers played a warm up match against Afghanistan A team. In the match, the Tigers first experienced the strengthen of Afghan team. Later, since 3rd June, 2018 they made their official competition.

The last match between them took place in 7th June, 2018 at the same venue in India. In the match, the Tigers faced lost in the toss and let to bowl first.

Earlier, Afghan team secured the T20I series against Bangladesh by winning first two matches. So, rest match was not the final match but the Tigers had chance to avoid whitewash. So, Afghan team came to bat first in the 3rd match.

Wicketkeeper Mohammad Shahzad and Usman Ghani started to bat for the Afghan team. By making 55 runs partnership, team Afghan made a good start. Mohammad Shahzad scored 26 runs and Ghani scored 19 runs so far. But just four runs later, 2nd wicket of the team was gone as well. Later, skipper of the team Asghar Stanikzai added another 27 runs and Samiullah scored highest 33 runs. Afghan team could not present a big score in front of the Tigers because the Tigers bowled well in the day. By losing six wickets Afghan team scored 145 runs in 20 overs.

Nazmul Islam and Abu Jayed bowled well for Bangladesh team and took two wickets each. Besides, Shakib and Ariful took 1 wicket each for the team. Bangladesh used seven bowlers to break down Afghan innings earlier.

Openers of Bangladesh failed to make a good start like before. Liton scored just 12 runs and Tamim scored 5 runs so far. Mushfiq and Mahmudullah played well for the Tigers where Mushfiq scored 46 runs and Mahmudullah scored 45 runs so far. Bangladesh tried hard to could not reach the target. They scored 144 runs in 20 overs and lost six wickets so far.
