Afghanistan beat West Indies by 7 wickets

Afghanistan and West Indies both teams have qualified for upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 tournament and reached the final in qualifier round. Both teams are from different group where West Indies came from group A and Afghanistan came from group B. But finally from two different locations, they faced against each other in final. In the match, Afghanistan beat West Indies by 7 wickets.

Basically considering the strength and ODI status, West Indies is much more balanced and more successful team in ODI history. They won two ICC World Cup titles already but long time they are out of focus. In the meantime, some players were ruled out from the team due to some problems with West Indies cricket board. But recent time team has solved all the problems with the players and now they have come to a position. In the tournament of ICC World Cup Qualifier 2018, they seems most balanced and powerful team and in the recently finished tournament, they just faced two defeats. Both times Afghanistan beat the Windies team.

Earlier in the inaugural match of Super Six round, Windies faced Afghan team where Afghan won for the first time. But at the final match once again West Indies faced the same team and lost the game so far.

On the other hand, Afghanistan started the qualifier tournament with poor performance. They were placed on the 3rd position at the end of the group stage matches. But since the beginning of Super Six, they started to show their true colors. They managed victories in all times in playoff round and now won the final against West Indies, the most potential team.

Though, West Indies faced defeat in the final but they have already qualified for the main event of ICC World Cup 2019 along with Afghanistan. Now, the qualifier round has finished and all ten teams are selected for the World Cup.

In 25th Match, 2018 the final match of the tournament was executed. The venue of Harare hosted the match where West Indies won the toss and decided to bat first. So, came to bat West Indies failed to play all overs but lost all wickets in 46.5 overs. They scored 204 runs finally against Afghanistan where Rovman Powell scored 44 runs highest. Mujeeb Ur Rahman took four wickets for Afghanistan in the final match. Later, Afghanistan chased the score though they lost three wickets. Mohammad Shahzad scored highest 84 runs in the match and got player of the match award. Afghan team played 40.4 overs and reached the target. For West Indies Chris Gayle took two wickets so far.
