Aaron Finch to lead team Aussie in T20I series against Sri Lanka

Australia has announced the T20I team squad for the upcoming T20 series against Sri Lanka where the Lions will visit Australia to play a three matches T20 series with the Aussie. The current skipper of the Aussie team Steve Smith and one of the major player David Warner would not play the tournament where they are given to the practice for upcoming Test series against India, according to Cricket Australia. So, due to the absence of the regular skipper, Aaron Finch was declared as the captain for the upcoming T20I series.

Sri Lanka would move to Australia for the series just probably a week later where they are currently playing the ODI series against South Africa. They would perhaps move to Australia from South Africa directly. Their series will start in 15th February, 2017 which will last just a week. In that case, Australia has revealed a primary team squad which consists of thirteen players and more players will be added soon enough.

On the other side, team Australia is also playing a ODI series against Black Caps currently in New Zealand where they have already played first ODI and faced an unbelieveable defeat. They have still two matches left where the second match will start in 2nd February, 2017. In that series, Smith and Warner are not participated. Basically, Cricket Australia is giving much priority to India because India is much stronger team than others, especially in their home ground. So, they do not want to make any single mistake.

However, along with Smith and Warner, team Australia also has decided to give rest some more players for few times which would give them previous strength to play better in India tour. They are Usman Khawaja, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc. These players also would not take part in Sri Lanka series. The each of the players used to compete in recently finished BBL 2016/17 and showed extraordinary performances. Besides, they are all experienced players in Australia team.
