India were far from best on the first two days of the one-off, three-day practice match against Essex, one may say.

Despite, captain Virat Kohli and opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan were in high spirits as the visitors stepped on to the field on Day 3 on Friday.

While coming out of the dressing room, Indian cricketers were greeted with the tunes of bhangra. And, Punjabi boys Kohli and Dhawan didn’t shy away from showing their dancing skills.

This is not the first time the duo has shown off their love for this type of dance as they had done something similar during India’s tour of South Africa earlier this year (see video below).

Earlier, India rode on half-centuries from Dinesh Karthik (82), Kohli (68), KL Rahul (58), Murali Vijay (53), and Hardik Pandya (51) to put up 395 runs on board.

Essex batsmen, too, were not too perplexed by the Indian bowlers as they amassed 359-8 before declaring, even as fast bowlers Umesh Yadav (4/35) and Ishant Sharma (3/59) shared seven wickets between them.

India got to bat again on the final day, scoring 89-2 in 21.2 overs before bad weather interrupted as the match ended in a draw.

India will take on England in the five-match Test series, beginning August 1.
