Just days after a fan breached security in an attempt to meet Mahendra Singh Dhoni, a similar incident happened during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match on Saturday night.

While walking out to bat in the second over of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) chase of Delhi Daredevils’ (DD) 184-run total, Kohli encountered a selfie-seeking fan.

The fan managed to touch Kohli’s feet before being escorted away by the officials.

Despite the interruption, the RCB captain went on to smash 70 runs off just 40 balls. His 118-run partnership with AB de Villiers (72*) helped them win with five wickets in hand and an over to spare.

The win also kept the RCB alive in the tournament although they won’t guarantee themselves a place in the knockouts even if they win all their remaining matches.

DD, meanwhile, pulled a plug on their campaign this season, having lost for the ninth time off 12 matches.
