It goes without saying that a strong fan-base tends to spur you on to do even better. But, there are times when fans’ passion crosses all limits, which leads to consequences that are uncalled for.

Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli was put through one such an experience by a fan, who sent him a letter written with blood.

“I had a letter sent to me written in blood, that was nasty,” Kohli was quoted as saying by CricTracker.

“It happened quite a while back in Delhi. I was going away in my car. Pulled the window down to sign something and something popped out of nowhere.

“I didn’t even see who gave it to me. The name was written on it and I just gave it to the security guy. I couldn’t even accept it. It was very scary.”

Kohli, who is currently plying his trade for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier (IPL), narrated another similar incident that happened during a flight.

“I was in a flight once. It might have happened during the IPL games. I was sleeping with my headphones on and I woke up with a baby on my lap,” he said.

“Someone was tapping on my shoulder and there was a guy who was about to take a selfie.

“I had my glasses on so I think the guy might have thought that I was actually watching him but I was actually sleeping.”

Bizarre stuff, no?

Meanwhile, Kohli’s RCB are currently placed fifth in the table standings. They are next scheduled to take on table-toppers Chennai Super Kings this Saturday.
