Malinga Steps-down from Captaincy

It was known before, Lasith Malinga is uncertain at forthcoming Twenty World Cup. Because of a knee injury. Finally, because of the injury, Sri Lanka’s T20 bowler stepped down from captain. Angelo Mathews has been in his place.

However, he continued to work down from the World Cup squad.

Before the journey to India, Sri Lanka made two changes to the squad. Lahiru Thirimanne and Suranga Lakmala has been taken in squad. Jeffrey Vhandarase and Nirosana Dikaoyela dropped.

The current World Cup champion Sri Lanka will start the mission in on March 17. At the Eden Gardens in Kalcutta, Sri Lanka will meet with a qualified team.

The squad: Angelo Mathews (captain), Dinesh Chandimal (vice-captain), Tillakaratne Dilshan, Jayasuriya Sheha, Lahiru Thirimanne, Milind Siribardhane, Dasuna Sanuka, Chamara Kapugedera, Nuwan Kulasekara, Dusamantha Camira, Thisara Perera, Shacitra Senanayake, Rangana Herath, Lasith Malinga , Suranga Lakmal.
