2nd T20 between Black Caps and Windies finished with no result

New Zealand won the first T20I match against West Indies which was staged in 29th December, 2017. So, by winning the first match, Black Caps led the series by 1 – 0. The T20I series consists of three matches where the 2nd match was about to stage in 1st January, 2018. But, the 2nd T20 between Black Caps and Windies finished with no result due to heavy rain. Though, Black Caps started to bat and already played nine overs and scored 102 runs. In the meantime, they lost four wickets so far.

However, team West Indies is currently travelling New Zealand and their tour duration is more than a month. They started their competition since at the end of November, 2017 and yet to finished. Their schedule was big enough to finish quickly. At first their competition started with long format cricket. The Test series consisted of two matches where New Zealand beat Windies in both cases. Later, they played ODI series which also consisted of three matches. In that case, once again New Zealand whitewash Black Caps. Now, they started the T20I series which consists of three matches as well. First match was won by New Zealand by 47 runs.

New Zealand scored 187 runs by batting first and Windies team failed to chase the score but got packet in 140 runs so far. Now, in 1st January, 2018 the 2nd T20I match was about to start considering the schedule.

In the match which was staged at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui West Indies won the toss and let Black Caps to ball first. Chris Brown (NZ) and Shaun Haig (NZ) were the two field umpires of the match. Shimron Hetmyer who is a West Indian played made his T20I debut in the match.

So, New Zealand came to bat with their two opener Guptill and Munro. Once again Guptill did not make it to a double figure but got out by scoring 2 runs only. But Munro played well and at first his partner was captain Williamson. When Williamson scored 17 then Munro was out with his 66 runs. He played just 23 balls. He made eleven 4’s and three 6’s. Later, Phillips came up but scored just 10 runs and Bruce scored 3 runs. Finally Williamson and Kitchen tried to make a partnership after losing four wickets but due to heavy rain, the match was forced to stop.

So, now the 3rd match will define the winner of T20I series.
