Gennady Golovkin sure knows how to win hearts – not only through his boxing skills in the ring, but off it as well.

On the occasion of Universal Children’s Day, GGG – as he’s called – visited Moctezuma Pediatric Hospital, a health centre for children, in Mexico City on Monday.

The veteran Kazakh middleweight was accompanied by his trainer Abel Sanchez, manager Tom Loeffler, WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman, and Dr. Armando Ahued, the secretary of health of Mexico City, as he spent some time with his little fans.

“I am very grateful to God and the WBC family for giving me the opportunity to be here and meet the true warriors of life, these little ones who every day fight a battle of more than 12 rounds,” GGG was quoted as saying by BoxingScene.

“I congratulate in a very special way the doctors who work in this hospital because they are the angels that take care of the health of these children,” he added.

Meanwhile, the 36-year-old GGG (37-0-1) is in talks for a rematch with Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez after the two fighters played out a draw in September.
