A rematch between middleweight giants Gennaddy ‘GGG’ Golovkin and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez is just ‘one detail’ away, Golden Boy Promotions’ president Eric Gomez has revealed.

Earlier this year in September, GGG and Canelo engaged in one of the most thrilling battles in recent times, with the former retaining his WBA, WBC and IBO belts after judged controversially calling it a draw. Many, though, felt GGG deserved to have won the fight.

“(Everything) is going very well, we’re fine, we’re talking, there’s one detail that has to be fixed and fine-tuned and in the next few weeks we’re going to sit down with Canelo to present everything to him and he’s going to make the decision,” Gomez told ESPN Deportes.

Gomez, however, said that a particular venue has not been finalized yet as the focus continues to be on the agreement of terms between the two fighters.

“We have not touched on that yet. The important thing, right now, is to reach an agreement and then to see the arenas.”
