Anthony Joshua is in talks for a unification fight with Deontay Wilder. He may also fight the likes of Alexander Povetkin, Jarrell Miller and Tyson Fury at some point of his career.

Amid all these talks, the British heavyweight has opened up on his plans to fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Yes, you read that right!

“I respect the guys that do boxing and the guys that are in the UFC but ultimately a fight is a fight,” the 28-year-old told Irish Independent (via boxingnewsandviews).

“I would fight in the UFC, yeah, I’m not saying how good I would do or how bad I would do. A challenge is a challenge and a fight is a fight,” Joshua added.

Should Joshua ever enter the cage, he will follow in the footsteps of Matt Skelton, James Toney, Ricardo Mayorga, Ray Mercer, Art Jimmerson, Eric Esch to name a few professional boxers-turned-mixed martial arts artists.

The likes of Holly Holm, Mia St John and Elena Reid are prime examples in women’s division.

Besides, Floyd Mayweather, who is considered one of the finest boxers of all time, is also considering a fight against UFC superstar Conor McGregor.
