French boxer Matiouze Royer met head-on with India’s Vijender Singh during the weigh-in ahead of the duo’s professional fight at the Copper Box Arena on Saturday.

It happened soon after both the boxers were asked to appear for the shutterbugs, when Royer approached Vijender with a head clash, before being separated by the officials present there.

While unbeaten Vijender (4-0) has just four bouts under his belt, Royer is a veteran of a (14-24-6) 44 appearances in his professional career spanning over 7 years.

The tattooed pugilist, later, warned Vijender of dire consequences in the ring, as he claimed that once he opens up his game, it will all but over for his fancied counterpart.

“I know I’ve got the beating of Vijender already; I saw it in his eyes. He looked scared to me. There’s no doubt in my mind I’ll knock him out tomorrow (Saturday) night,” Royer was quoted as saying by PTI (via HT).

“There’s a lot of hype around this guy and I can’t wait to be the one to put him in his place,” he continued. “I’m the more experienced fighter and I’ll show it tomorrow.

“There’s no way I’m letting this guy beat me; he’s only had four professional fights. He won’t have a reply for anything I throw at him and once I start landing it will be game over for India’s golden boy.”

The bout will be a six-round affair, and is scheduled to begin at 6:20 pm local time.
