British professional boxer Nick Blackwell (19-4-1) slipped into induced coma after taking a barrage of brutal punches from countryman Chris Eubank Jr. (22-1-0) during his capitulation of British middleweight title at the Wembley Arena on Friday.

Blackwell, who is known for his resistance, exhibited sheer valor against his fancied opponent as he survived some atrocious blows before the referee called in the doctor to have a check on the swelling over his eye, who, then, advised the fight being stopped.

According to the Guardian, the 25-year-old Blackwell collapsed soon after going off the ring, and was immediately rushed to the hospital on stretcher with oxygen.

Robert Smith, the general secretary of British Boxing Board of Control (BBC), later informed that Blackwell slipped into coma due to bleeding of the brain. He added that he’s in the ICU, and that it is a matter of “waiting and seeing”.

TSM Plug wishes Nick Blackwell a speedy recovery!
