VIDEO: Serena Williams Survives Disqualification After Flinging Racquet Hits Cameraman at Wimbledon
World number one Serena Williams has come under the scanner for her detestable behavior at the ongoing Wimbledon Championships.
The top-seeded American struggled through her third round clash against compatriot Christina McHale before finding her way to a 6-7 6-2 6-4 victory.
After losing a closely-fought first set, Serena let out her anger on the racquet, smashing it multiple times before flinging it backwards. It, inadvertently, went on to hit the cameraman’s lap.
Although the rules state that a player’s action cannot get in physical contact with any of the officials on court, Serena was lucky to escape a disqualification as she was handed a mere code violation by the umpire.
