Halep, who is slated to climb up to No. 2 in the women’s singles rankings on Monday, divulged that she does not watch any other compatriot play, but ensures that she catches a glimpse of Federer’s graceful strokes.

Following her 6-1 6-2 drubbing of Serbia’s Jelena Jankovic en route the finals of the ongoing tournament in Cincinnati, Halep was interrogated if she has seen her ultimate opponent – Serena Williams – play all this week.

What followed thereafter astonished the presser room, as the 23-year-old retorted saying: “I don’t watch other players. Only Federer.”
