Roger Federer confirms schedule for 2017 grass season
17-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer has confirmed his participation for next year’s ATP 250 Mercedes Cup, scheduled to be held from June 6-13 in Stuttgart, Germany.
Federer, who missed most of the second half of this season due to a knee injury, will also feature at the ATP 500 Gerry Weber Open (June 13-19) in Halle, Germany, before moving on to the All England Club to play the prestigious Wimbledon Championships that is slated to begin from June 27.
The 35-year-old made his debut in Stuttgart this year, but was ousted in the semi-final by eventual champion Dominic Thiem of Austria in a thrilling three-set tussle.
Meanwhile, the 35-year-old is scheduled to kick-start the new season at the Hopman Cup – starting January 1 – where he will represent his country Switzerland alongside Belinda Bencic.
