Newly-Wed Dominika Cibulkova Postpones Honeymoon Until Tennis Season Ends
Dominika Cibulkova, who recently tied the knot with Miso Navara, has delayed honeymoon plans until the end of the tennis season.
Having made it to the quarter-finals of the Wimbledon Championships, the Slovak tennis star’s scheduled marriage was on the verge of postponement. However, that she lost in the last-eight stage, allowed the marriage to go as per schedule.
Now that the nuptials are done, the 27-year-old has no time to whish away with her husband for a holiday.
“Everybody’s asking, ‘What are you doing here? You should be on your honeymoon!’ But it’s the middle of the season and I’m a professional athlete, so I can’t just go on a honeymoon,” Cibulkova told WTA Tennis.
“We were really happy that we found a date, but we’ll have a honeymoon after the season,” she added.
The 12th-ranked Cibulkova is currently in Stanford for Bank of the West Classic – a WTA Premier event – where she has been seeded second. After a bye in the opener, she will either meet Kateryna Bondarenko or Urszula Radwanska in the second round.
