Juan Martin del Potro accepts wildcard for Swiss Indoors
Former US Open champion Juan Martin del Potro has accepted a wildcard for next week’s Swiss Indoors in Basel, scheduled to be held from October 24-30.
Del Potro, who returned to action this year after missing almost two seasons due to a chronic wrist injury, is currently ranked 63rd in the ATP rankings.
However, the fact that he is a marquee player and a two-time champion here (2012 and ’13), has earned him a direct entry into the 32-player main draw here.

The 28-year-old Argentine will compete alongside the likes of Stanislas Wawrinka, Rafael Nadal, Milos Raonic, Kei Nishikori, and Marin Cilic among the others.
Del Potro has had a decent season so far, with his highlight being the silver medal at the Rio Olympics, where he upset Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal en route the finish.
