Reigning Australian Open champion, Angelique Kerber, spilled the beans as she suggested that her fellow tennis player Ana Ivanovic could soon walk down the aisle with her football-playing beau Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Kerber, 28, opened up on the topic after pulling off her maiden Grand Slam title Down Under, as she divulged that the couple sent her a congratulatory message, and that she is looking forward to their nuptial ceremony.

“Ana Ivanovic and Bastian Schweinsteiger sent me a photo with a congratulations message,” the German was quoted as saying.

“Ana is one of my closest friends during the tournaments. Those two are so cute; I am looking forward to their wedding,” she added.

This puts the past rumours to rest which had claimed that the duo had secretly tied the knot in May last year.
