Female tennis stars lit up a gloomy Tianjin Open by making it to the player party ahead of the WTA International event in the Chinese city.

Two-time Grand Slam champion Petra Kvitova was the star attraction besides doubles Major winners Peng Shuai and Su-Wei Hsieh.

The other notable names included Americans Alison Riske, Lauren Davis and Christina McHale. Croatia’s Donna Vekic was also in attendance.

Maria Sharapova, a five-time Grand Slam champ, has also received a wildcard into the main draw of the $500,000 hard-court event.

Most of the matches – including all the singles games – were washed out due to rain on Monday and Tuesday, allowing only a few doubles encounters to take place.
