Bastian Schweinsteiger has been nursing a calf injury since September that has kept the Chicago Fire star out of Major League Soccer action.

Making the most of time away, the former Manchester United player graced his presence at a National Football League (NFL) game with his wife, retired tennis star Ana Ivanovic.

Ivanovic, a former world No. 1 and French Open champion, later took to her official Instagram account to share a snapshot of herself with Schweinsteiger from the stadium.

“Excited about our first football game. @bastianschweinsteiger. Let’s go @chicagobears…,” she wrote to her 1.3 million followers on Instagram.

The couple – wearing identical Chicago Bears jerseys – was left disappointed after their side lost 17-20 to Minnesota Vikings at the Soldier Field.
