NFL Week 8: Packers vs Saints Highlights
The surging Green Bay Packers rolled into the Louisiana Superdome tonight (Sun., October 26, 2014) to take on the New Orleans Saints in a Sunday Night Football shootout.
The game promised to a high-scoring affair, and it wasted no time in getting started.
Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers found receiver Randall Cobb with a 70-yard score early (courtesy of Vine):
New Orleans fought back with a big pass play from Drew Brees to Kenny Stills, setting up a 4-yard touchdown run by rookie Brandin Cooks.
Green Bay didn’t take long to strike back, as Rodgers found running back Eddie Lacy for a 67-yard pass play to set up a field goal.
The Saints kicked a field goal of their own to tie the game at 10.
The teams then went back-and-forth with two field goals apiece to tie the game at 16-16 before Brees hit Cooks with a 50-yard score to put them up 23-16 (Vine):
The Saints soon made it 30-16 with a 22-yard score to Jimmy Graham (Vine):
Suffering from an injured hamstring, Rodgers threw an interception that set the Saints up yet again. They scored on a short pass to backup tight end Josh Hill (Vine):
Injured hamstring and all, Rodgers rushed for a 14-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter (Vine):
But it wasn’t nearly enough, as the Saints poured it on with a sharp touchdown run by Mark Ingram (Vine):
The Saints won the big game 44-23 and will play the Carolina Panthers for first place in the NFC South this doing Thursday.
