Spanish tennis veteran Fernando Verdasco showed off his love for football as he attended Atletico Madrid’s practice session in Madrid on Friday.

Verdasco, a former world No. 7, was invited along with his countryman, former Olympic distance runner Jose Manuel Martinez as the duo met club’s star defender Luis Filipe.

While Verdasco gifted a tennis racquet to Filipe, the footballer, in return, gave him his t-shirt.

They later took to their official Instagram accounts to share a photo of their meetup. “A pleasure to have known you @filipeluis,” Verdasco captioned.

Filipe wrote: “Thank you very much for the visit @ferverdasco and @chemitamartinez. I was very excited.”

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid are scheduled to meet hosts Levante in a La Liga fixture on Sunday.
