Mexico took on New Zealand in what was a very one sided affair in the first leg of the Intercontinental playoffs, Mexico scored two quick goals just before the break and put the game to bed while a goal after the break from Peralta made it 3-0 and game, set and qualification to the FIFA World Cup 2014, although 2nd leg is still to be played.
In the last 10 minutes Mexico scored 2 more goals before New Zealand struck one and made it 5-1 on the night but it was too little and too late, now we have New Zealand facing a massive task of over turning 5-1 result in the 2nd leg which looks highly unlikely.
Mexico looked much of a different side and on a different level all together though New Zealand were unlucky just like Jordan who were beaten today by Uruguay by 5-0, FIFA’s rules of putting Ociana champions against Mexico who finished 4th in their regional qualifer are not justified.
