FC barcelona went into the game against Villarreal knowing that their arch rivals and title challengers had dropped points away at Osasuna and this was a perfect oppertunity for Barcelona to extended their lead at the top of the table to 5 points, and thats exactly what they did. Lionel Messi is still missing through injury and all eyes were in Neymar who is coming into this match on the back of a good hattrick against Celtic in UEFA Champions League.

Neymar opened the scoring in the 30th minute of the game, but it was short lived when Mateo Pablo Musacchio made it 1-1 on the night. It looked like a tough game for Barcelona who needed their star man to rescue, Cesc Fabregas found alexie Sanchez with a superb lofted ball who than squared it for Neymar to make it 2-1 and all three points.
