Bastian Schweinsteiger is currently out of action, nursing a calf injury. Making the most of time off, the German international — along with his wife Ana Ivanovic — attended Ed Sheeran’s concert in Chicago on Sunday night.

Schweinsteiger, who plays for Chicago Fire in Major League Soccer (MLS), later caught up with the popular English singer. “Had a great time with my wife @anaivanovic at the Ed Sheeran concert. Nice to meet you, Ed,” he wrote on Instagram.

Schweinsteiger’s wife Ivanovic, a former world No. 1 tennis player, also shared a similar photo of the couple posing alongside Sheeran. “Had so much fun at the Ed Sheeran concert,” Ivanovic captioned the image to her 1.3 million followers.

The 33-year-old Schweinsteiger, who primarily plays as a midfielder, has played for English giants Manchester United and German powerhouse Bayern Munich in the past before turning to MLS in March this year.
