Pakistan took on South Africa in the first test match of the 2 match series, and the first day is pretty much even stevens, South Africa won the toss and the elected to bat first baring in mind that playing on this track in the fourth innings will be a impossible task as England would know about it.

Pakistan pegged Africans back with 3 quick wickets before Amla came into his own and although he could not get much support he single handedly guided South Africa to a good score at the end of Day 1. South Africa are 245 for 8 and Pakistan will go into the day 2 confident that the can get the remaining two wickets and South African will be backing on Amla to get them to around 300.
