Ishant Sharma Ruled Out of World Cup 2015, Bhuvneshwar Kumar Fit
India have suffered an early setback ahead of the World Cup 2015 after their experienced speed-star, Ishant Sharma, was ruled out of the sport’s mega event due to a knee injury.
Consequently, Mohit Sharma – who was a part of India’s squad at the recently-concluded triangular series – is likely to be included as Ishant’s replacement in India’s 15-man squad.
“It’s confirmed that Ishant has been ruled out and will not recover in time to play the World Cup,” a BCCI official was quoted as saying by the Press Trust of India (via CricBuzz). “As per regulations, we had Mohit Sharma as stand-by and he will be inducted into the World Cup squad. “
BHUVNESHWAR, ROHIT, JADEJA FIT
Meanwhile, there was a sigh of relief in the Indian contingent after medium-pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, opening batsman Rohit Sharma and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja were announced fit for the coveted tournament.
The defending champions kick-start their World Cup preparations through a warm-up match against Australia that is scheduled to be held at the Adelaide on Sunday.
