IPL Auction 2014 Delhi Daredevils Point of View
Delhi Daredevils did not retain any player going into the IPL Auction, which means they can have the right to buy back atleast 3 players, though IPL joker cards. It was a surprise when they announced that they don’t want to retain any player which not even their captain Virender Sehwag and Australian master blaster David Warner and english batsman Kevin Pieterson. Thats a big decision and new team coach Gary Kristen stated about opting not to retain any player, that they would like the squad to get a complete over haul as they have not done perticularly well in the past.
Delhi will be looking to get atleast two big name players from India nationals while it will be interesting to see how they go about things. having said that we all know that what Gary is banking on. The decision to let Pieterson, Warner and Sehwag kind of makes sense if we consider that Delhi has first buy out chance and it might be cheaper to buy them through auction than retaining them, either way it will be interesting to see how Delhi to in IPL Auction on 12 and 13 February 2014.
