West Indies vs India 2014 Schedule (ODI & Test Series)
India’s ordeal in England hasn’t ended yet and it might linger on if Indian Batsmen continue to put on the same show as they did in test matches. Last month or so has, Understandably, proved agonizing for Indian fans after all they didn’t expect the World Champions to perish so abjectly. Each new defeat away from home, fuels the argument, which is tackled with disdain by Indian management, that Indian players can show their best performances only at home.

ODI series between India and England is on the verge of kicking off and while we wait for an action thronged series, BCCI has announced the schedule of West Indian Team’s tour of India, later this year. This series definitely comes as a cool breeze in a long dry and hot spell of weather for Indian fans as it brings an opportunity for them to see their team perform at its own grounds before it leaves for Australia to play a series against Australia and World Cup 2015.
Last time West Indies visited India, the occasion got better of cricket, it was Sachin Tendulkar’s farewell test series, which India won comprehensively by a 2-0 score line. The results of the ODI series were also not much different which India won by 2-1.
This time the Caribbean side will be venturing in a comparatively prolonged series with India. Both teams will lock the horns in 3Test,5 ODIs and one off T20 International match. ODIs and T20 are scheduled before we move on to test matches.

First ODI will be played at Kochi followed by matches at Vishakhapatnam, Cuttack, Kolkata and Dharmasala. Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla stadium will host its first ever International T20 match.

This is expected to turn into a highly watched series as it would be the last series which India will be playing at home before leaving for Australia. India ,while looking to leave home on a high, will definitely try to experiment with its selection to get the right combinations going before the mega event.

In recent past, the series especially ODIs between these two nations have been full of runs predominantly because of lack of quality bowlers on both sides but with Suneel Narine, the Caribbean side would fancy its chances against the strong Indian Batting house. If performed well then this series will be confidence booster for both sides as both teams are in same pool in World Cup.
West indies will, most probably, be captained by Danesh Ramdin who has had a mix run up as a captain. After having a not particularly good series against New Zealand, his side is also having a mix kind of series against Bangladesh but in spite of all these facts, mercuric West Indian side cannot be ruled out of the series against India.
