Cheteshwar Pujara gives tips to Yorkshire teammate on how to stop Virat Kohli
If Virat Kohli’s upcoming County stint turns out to be dud, his India teammate Cheteshwar Pujara should be put to blame.
Kohli recently signed up to play a few games for Surrey in a quest to acclimatize to the English conditions ahead of India’s tour.
And Pujara, who is currently plying his trade for Yorkshire, has given a tip or two to his teammate Ben Coad on how to unsettle Kohli.
“We’ve already spoken to Puj about how to get him out,” fast-bowler Ben Coad told Yorkexpress.co.uk.
“But I might keep that a secret. No, seriously, he’s just said ‘Keep it off his legs’. That seems to be the key. Make him come to you and play a patience game with him.
“I think it will be a bit easier for us at Scarborough with good carry, swing and it nipping around a bit, but he’s a quality player, and we’ll just have to see what we can do.
“It’s a great challenge to have. I want to play against the best players in the world so I can see where I am with my game and what I need to work on.”
However, according to latest media reports, Kohli is open to last-minute changes to his schedule as he might feature in India ‘A’ match against England Lions. He might also participate in a T20 match against Ireland in the run up.
India’s will begin their tour of England with the first T20 starting July 3.
