Gennady ‘GGG’ Golovkin has drawn the first blood even as his rematch with Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez has failed to materialize, at least, for now.

With their highly-anticipated middleweight contest ending in a controversial draw in August last year, the duo was expected to lock horns for the second time in 2018.

However, Canelo was tested positive for a banned substance clenbuterol in March. He was immediately banned even as the Mexican blamed ‘contaminated’ meat for failed drug test.

And, GGG didn’t mind throwing a verbal jab through a new commercial, which he later shared on his official Instagram account.

The video begins with the Kazakh’s trainer Abel Sanchez eating steak and saying, “Superhuman power requires a special ingredient. And it’s called hard work.”

Canelo was quick to hit back on the photo-sharing platform. “I know you miss me, you can’t live without me,” he commented before taking it off quickly.

The run-up to the rematch has begun!
