Olyympic super-heavyweight gold medalist Anthony Joshua returned to action last night (October 11th, 2014) as he took on two-time international champion Denis Bakhtov in London, England. “AJ” faced Bakhtov in his ninth fight as a pro, and looked to keep his record perfect, with all fights ending by knock out so far.

Joshua has only ever been as far as round three as a pro, and returned to action last night at the O2 arena in Greenwich, London, to fight for the vacant WBC international heavyweight championship belt. “AJ” looked sharp withhis punches from the first bell, connecting well with his long jabs and trying to find a home for his powerful right hand.

For his part, the journeyman Russian showed heart for the two rounds he lasted, and could have easily been stopped in the first after being socked with a flush right hand. Joshua continued to put on the pressure in the second round, eventually besting his man before the one minute mark.
