Joe Root is celebrating England’s win over Sri Lanka in the just-conclude Test series like no one else.
The skipper got hitched to his partner Carrie Cotterell in Sheffield on Sunday in front of their near and dear ones. The couple had been dating each other since 2016.
Root took to his official Instagram account to share a picture from the nuptials and wrote: “What a day! MrsRoot.”
His lady love posted one of her own alongside the simple caption: “1.12.18.”
Among the guests was Root’s fellow speedster Stuart Broad, who too, posted one picture of himself from the ‘wedding season’.
Meanwhile, Root is expected to get back on field soon with England scheduled to travel to West Indies for a series involving three Tests, five ODIs and three T20s.
