64 words: That’s all Bernard Tomic spoke at press conference after French Open exit
Bernard Tomic was at the centre of controversy at the French Open on Monday.
The volatile Australian tennis player, who qualified for the main draw, was handed a stunning 6-4 5-7 6-4 6-4 loss by little-known lucky loser Marco Trungelliti of Argentina in the first round.
The frustration was clearly evident on Tomic’s face as he refused to give a detailed explanation over his defeat in the post-match press conference.
64 words: that’s all he spoke countering 10 questions (an eleven-word answer being the longest).

This is not the first time the 25-year-old has embroiled himself in a controversial presser.
Following his defeat to Novak Djokovic in the third round of the 2015 Wimbledon Championships, Tomic went on a rant against Tennis Australia, accusing the body of lack of support for himself as well as his sister Sara.
He was later dropped from the subsequent Davis Cup tie against Kazakhstan.
Closer to date, Tomic said he just ‘counts money’ after failing toqualify for the Australian Open earlier this year.
