WATCH: What Sorana Cirstea did after a ball boy fell sick during her match is admirable
Sorana Cirstea didn’t have the best of the days in the office on Friday. Yet, she found a win to win hearts.
Playing against American Alison Riske in the quarter-finals of the WTA event in Nurnberg, Cirstea was forced to retire hurt early in the third set due to an injury.
Not before she had won many a heart.
Midway during the second set, a ball boy fell sick and apparently couldn’t continue, briefly interrupting the game.
Cirstea went up to the boy seated on a chair as she tried to comfort him by having a word before the officials could arrange a bottle of water.
That’s how you show sportsmanship!
Meanwhile, Cirstea is racing against time to get fit for the French Open that gets under way on Sunday. She has been drawn to take on local hope Daria Gavrilova first up.
